Description

Miller XMT 400 Multiprocess Welder (Tweco) 907881001

The Miller XMT 400 (Tweco) is a portable 400 amp multi-process welder that weighs just 75 pounds, and is capable of MIG, pulsed-MIG, Stick and DC TIG welding. It operates on both three-phase and single-phase input power and features Miller’s Auto-Line, which means you can use 208 volt to 575 volt, single or three-phase input power without manual linking.

The XMT 400 comes standard with both legacy 14-pin and new ArcConnect wire feeder/remote receptacles. ArcConnect provides high speed communication between a wire feeder and welder to improve machine response and performance. ArcConnect also allows for full remote control of output amperage, voltage and weld process control, right at the (OPTIONAL) Intellx wire feeder.

The XMT 400 is easy to move around the shop or jobsite. Its rugged case design ensures it will stand up to the punishment of extreme work environments. The XMT 400 can carbon arc gouge with carbons up to 5/16″ diameter. When paired with a wire feeder or spool gun, it makes an excellent MIG and Flux-Cored welder. It also features built-in Lift-Arc TIG arc starting for smooth DC TIG arc starts without the use of high frequency.

Processes

  • MIG (GMAW)
  • Pulsed MIG* (GMAW-P)
  • Regulated Metal Deposit* (RMD)
  • Stick (SMAW)
  • DC TIG (GTAW)
  • Flux Cored (FCAW)
  • Air Carbon Arc (CAC-A) Cutting and Gouging (5/16″ carbons)

    Features

  • 14-pin receptacle
Has the flexibility to be used with spool guns, legacy 14-pin feeders, and remote controls.
  • ArcConnect
Is a next generation communication that utilizes high speed signals to improve weld performance and allow point-of-use controls to be located at the feeder.
  • MIG (with OPTIONAL Wire Feeder)
Lower spatter than traditional MIG welders
Better arc performance with silicon bronze and coated materials
  • Accu-Pulse
The most popular process for majority of industrial welding applications
Most adaptive arc on 16 gauge (1.6 mm) and thicker
    Designed for all weld positions
  • Versa-Pulse
Fast, low-heat, low-spatter process for materials 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) and thinner
    Great for gap filling
Shortest arc length/lowest pulse voltage for lower heat and lower spatter at higher speeds
  • High-deposition MIG (HD MIG)
Higher deposition rates than standard spray transfer on thicker materials
Designed for welding applications in which spray transfer is preferred
  • Regulated metal deposition (RMD) and pulsed MIG
Are fully supported, enabling operators to use these advanced processes in the field for faster, more efficient welds.
  • Jobsite mobility
Is made easy with the smallest and lightest machine in its amperage class.
  • True multiprocess system
Provides conventional stick, TIG, FCAW, and MIG welding as well as the advanced technologies of RMD and pulse.
  • Auto-Line
Provides state-of-the-art flexibility by automatically connecting to 208-575 VAC, single- or three- phase power without removing the covers to re-link the power source. No longer is there a concern if you have the correct machine for the shop or the job site.
  • Wind Tunnel Technology
Internal air flow that protects electrical components and PC boards from dirt, dust and debris greatly improving reliability.
  • Fan-On-Demand
Cooling system operates only when needed, reducing noise, energy use and the amount of contaminants pulled through machine.
  • Lightweight aerospace-grade aluminum case
Offers protection with the benefit of reduced weight.
  • Universal connector system
Quickly and easily allows the machine to be configured to either Tweco, Dinse, or Cam-Lok-style receptacles. (Welder ships with Dinse-style receptacles installed).
  • More control for weld operators
Quick, easy adjustments at the wire feeder/remote.
  • Adjust While Welding (AWW)
Change weld parameters while the arc is on.
  • Process selector switch
Reduces the number of control setup combinations without reducing any features.
  • Large, dual digital meters
Are easy to view and are presettable to ease setting weld output.
  • Auto Remote Sense
Enables unit to automatically use remote control if connected to remote control (14-pin) receptacle.
  • Adaptive Hot Start
Helps promote a fast positive arc ignition helping minimize defects.
  • Infinite arc control
Available in the stick and wire modes for easier fine tuning of tough-to- weld materials and out-of-position applications.
  • Lift-Arc TIG
Provides arc starting that minimizes contamination of the electrode and without the use of high-frequency.
  • OPTIONAL gas solenoid for TIG welding.

    Comes complete with

  • XMT 400 with Tweco-style receptacles
  • 8 ft. input power cord
